Asteron Business Expenses includes a series of built in benefits that come as standard on your Business Expenses policy.
Built in Benefits
Totally / Partially disabled benefit
Asteron will pay you a monthly benefit to cover the costs of ordinary business expenses should you be either totally or partially disabled. The amount payable is the lesser of your monthly benefit and the allowable business expenses incurred for the month.
Recurrent Disability
If you suffer from the same sickness or injury within 6 months of a disability claim ending we will consider your disablement as being recurring - meaning that your Business Expenses benefit can recommence without needing to wait for a further stand-down period to pass, but only for the remaining part of the benefit period.
Inflation Adjustment Benefit
We offer to increase the sum insured for Business Expenses cover on each anniversary of the commencement date. We will increase the insured by the greater of the indexation factor and 2%.
Elective Surgery Benefit
We will pay the Business Expenses Benefit if you are unable to work due to you having elective surgery on the advice of a registered doctor to transplant a part of your body to someone else or improve your appearance.
Funeral Benefit
If you die while claiming under your Business Expenses policy, Asteron will reimburse up to $10,000 direct funeral costs incurred by your policy owner.
Grief Support Benefit
If we pay the Funeral Benefit, we will reimburse your immediate family members up to $600 for the cost of receiving initial confidential grief counselling from a counsellor approved by us.
Payments while overseas
If you are disabled while overseas (excluding Australia) and you are entitled to receive benefit payments from us, we will still pay you while you are overseas for up to 3 months, provided you can meet our claim requirements.
Premium and Cover Suspension Benefit
Should you become unemployed or take sabbatical, long term or maternity leave from your work, you may suspend your Business Expenses policy and premium for up to 12 months. This benefit is only available if your policy has been in force for 12 months and all premiums have been paid.
Premium Waiver Benefit
If you are disabled and are entitled to benefit payments, your Business Expenses policy premium will be waived until you are no longer disabled or not entitled to benefit payments.
Guarantee of Upgrade
If we make any future improvements to the Business Expenses policy without any increase in standard premium rates, we will provide these improvements to your policy owner without charging any additional premium.
Guarantee of Renewal
Provided premiums are paid we will continue to renew the policy each year until the policy ends, without including any more restrictive terms regardless of the number of claims made or any changes to your health, occupation or pastimes.
